What is the Pattern Day Trading (PDT) rule?

Note: this rule only applies to US-regulated brokers. If you're trading with a non-US broker, you can skip this question.

The PDT rule is a US regulatory requirement that applies to traders who make four or more day trades within five business days using a margin account. To continue day trading freely under this rule, your account must maintain a minimum of USD 25,000 in equity. ChartsConnect is a global platform and does not enforce this rule — but if you trade with a US-regulated broker, that broker's PDT policies will apply to your account.

Do you charge a fee per trade?

No. ChartsConnect charges a flat monthly subscription fee — there are no per-trade fees, no commissions, and no hidden charges. You can run as many trades as your plan allows without worrying about costs per execution. Your broker may charge their own commissions or spreads, but those are separate from ChartsConnect.

What payment options do you accept (including crypto)?

We currently accept major credit and debit cards. Additional payment methods — including PayPal, bank transfers, and potentially cryptocurrency — are being rolled out progressively. All transactions are processed through a secure payment gateway.

What is a webhook?

A webhook is a way for one platform to automatically send a message to another in real time. In ChartsConnect's case, when your TradingView alert fires (e.g. "RSI crossed above 70 on Gold"), TradingView instantly sends that signal to ChartsConnect via a webhook URL. ChartsConnect receives it, interprets the trade instruction, and passes it to your MT4/MT5 broker to execute. It all happens in seconds, with no manual input from you.

What is a strategy or subscription?

In ChartsConnect, a strategy is your trading logic — the rules that define when to buy, when to sell, and how to manage the trade (entry, exit, risk settings). Once configured, your strategy generates signals automatically.

A subscription (in the context of your plan) refers to your ChartsConnect plan tier, which determines how many strategies, broker connections, and signals you can run simultaneously. The two are separate — your strategy is what you trade, your subscription is how much trading capacity you have.

How do I get help with trade signals?

If your signals aren't behaving as expected:

  • Start with the Strategy and Signal Logs in your ChartsConnect dashboard — these show exactly what was received and what was sent to your broker.
  • Make sure your MT4/MT5 terminal is online and the EA is active.
  • Visit support at chartsconnect.com — our team can help with troubleshooting, webhook validation, and strategy configuration.

💡 When contacting support, sharing a screenshot of your Signal Log and MT4/MT5 Experts tab helps us resolve issues much faster.
